Snooping
Sometimes you just want to look into other peoples' houses. Not to see the people - they're even in the way. You just want to see the wall paper or what the sofa looks like. Colors, chandeliers, dishes, lamps. How do people put them together. For me - it's just about getting ideas - it's about training the eye. The more you gaze at photos of rooms, the more you will recognize good design and what you like and don't like.
This dining room had three sides of greenery outside, so the inside color naturally had to be green. The painter almost had a heart attack when I came up with three shades of green, a shade of white for trim color, and then the wallpaper. The sun poured through in the morning and afternoon, and the room seemed to glow.
